The Resurrection begins…

We're excited to announce that the ongoing Cressbrook Dale Estate Community agreed this week that we will restore the building we have discovered at Cressbrook Dale as an Inter-Faith Chapel for Peace.

We've been inspired by the many Chapels which can be found around the British Isles and beyond...

This feels important, not only given the horrors which are unfolding in the Middle East, but also the ongoing unprovoked attacks, hatred, theft, vandalism and blatant propaganda which we are experiencing from what would appear to be a small minority of somewhat militant (and seemingly heartless/joyless) local people.

The majority of visitors who we welcome to Cressbrook Dale are happy, friendly and have no problem with our ownership of the land ~ deeply appreciating their ability to let their dogs roam freely off the lead (as there is no longer livestock on the land), as well as loving the steps we installed which make it so much safer and easier to navigate the steep public footpath leading down to the bridge over the Cress Brook.

Gratitude to Andy and Laura who assisted us in the discovery of this building!  You can read full details at: Point 7 of https://www.lovecressbrookdale.com/about/what-we-did and Point 6 of https://www.lovecressbrookdale.com/about/what-we-vision

We have already made a start on uncovering the foundations (which are grown over with brambles etc. and very distinctly different to the surrounding grassland). We're inviting everyone who feels inspired to come along and get involved...  It's a great way for you to experience the magic of Cressbrook Dale as well as for us to get to know one another better.

We'll then start the resurrection early next year ~ using natural materials from the land as far as possible.

We'll be on site on the following days:
      Saturday 4 November 11am to 4pm
        Saturday 18 November 11am to 4pm
        Saturday 25 November 11am to 4pm
        Saturday 2 December 11am to 4pm

No need to book in, just come along as and when you feel you'd like to.

Below is a map showing you where to park and where we'll be. SatNav SK17 8SX will get you close, but not exact... stay on the main road which routes around Cressbrook village and look for the big, wide hairpin bend which goes down through the woods ~ where you will see the entrance track of Litton Frith Farm, going North through the Ravensdale woods.  (Please note that the entrance track is quite muddy ~ so only attempt to drive up the track if you have a 4x4 !!!)

Please be aware that there are very few facilities on site ~ so please bring everything you feel you will need for a day outdoors, including warm waterproof clothing, water/a flask + some food to share.  Also bring waterproof working gloves, plus any tools which you feel may be useful for cutting and clearing.

We look forward to seeing you!
